Our 100% Transparent Model
Because we choose not to stock or resell heavy appliances, we have zero incentive to push a specific brand. Our focus is entirely on finding the right tool for your specific menu and layout. This independence is rare in the kitchen equipment industry — most suppliers earn margins on the equipment they recommend, creating a conflict of interest between what earns them the most and what performs best for your operation.
Beyond Commercial Kitchens earns a flat 3% consultancy fee based on the total equipment value of the project. Not a markup on the equipment — a transparent, declared advisory fee. You receive 100% of the supplier's direct invoices, and our fee is separately invoiced so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
What Our Procurement Consultancy Covers
Unbiased Brand Curation: We recommend the absolute best equipment brands tailored entirely to your output requirements, power availability, and budget. We assess brands on performance data, after-sale support quality in Kenya, spare parts availability, and total cost of ownership — not on supplier relationships or margin.
Local & Global Sourcing: We utilise our strong, long-standing relationships with trusted local distributors and global manufacturers to negotiate the best possible prices for you. Our volume relationships and technical credibility with suppliers translate into pricing that individual buyers cannot access independently.
Direct Import Management: For specialised machinery that is not available locally in Kenya, our team handles the technical logistics of importing it directly from trusted global manufacturers straight to your site. This includes specification review, proforma invoice management, clearing agent coordination, port handling, and delivery to your site.
Installation Coordination: Where imported equipment requires specialist commissioning — refrigeration gas charging, oven calibration, mixer installation — we coordinate the appropriate technical resource and oversee the commissioning process.
The Cost Benefit of Procurement Consultancy
A common concern about engaging a consultant is the additional cost. In practice, our procurement consultancy frequently saves clients more than the 3% fee through better pricing, avoided specification errors, and import cost savings.
Our trade relationships often allow us to secure discounts from distributors that offset our 3% fee — meaning you receive expert technical selection and logistics management at no net cost, or at a significant saving versus procuring independently. For large equipment packages (cold rooms, full oven suites, walk-in refrigeration), the savings on a single correctly-negotiated order can exceed several multiples of our fee.
The more significant cost saving is avoiding specification errors. A commercial oven specified at the wrong capacity for your production volume — too small and it becomes a bottleneck on day one; too large and you have overpaid significantly and carry higher running costs. Our technical assessment of your menu, throughput, and kitchen design eliminates this risk.
